Working like crazy to get this mural finished in time for the photo session organised for friday. (The principal told Healthways -who supplied the grant that it was alreadyy finished!!!!) I was working -outlining and patching up mistakes- until 6;30 tonight and 7pm yesterday transferring more of the children’s drawings onto the wall. Tim recons that there is about 65 square metres of mural. On brick which is revolting to paint on. If you ever get persuaded to one insist on the wall being rendered first!!!!!!

multi tasking

I found this image while browsing blog land, it made me laugh. I often feel I'm in need of 8 arms to complete all the necessary tasks along with the unnecessary ones! I found it on Pengin & Fish. She has links to a variety of beautiful and quirky sites. This one really tickled my fancy!
Right at this moment I'm enjoying breakfast out in my patio making use of this wonderful wireless network! I think I'll bring my sewing machine out here to do some work today. It's a little overcast and cool but nice to be in the fresh air.

I'm beginning to wonder if it is a good idea to do the George St Market or not. There is not a great deal of time and I do need to balance work commitments. Term 4 is alwasys busy and a little stressful- trying to get everything complete, writing reports and the principal and P&C want to do a huge whole school art exhibition with each child having a piece of artwork to sell for a large fundraising event! This has me a little concerned as I'm a bit of a control freak and like to do stuff myself, I will have to learn to delegate, and hope it gets done properly! Also I have to confess I have not yet finished the mural so this also has to be a high priority! See I truly do need 8 arms! (And less time spent browsing looking at all the lovely stuff everyone else is producing!)
Time to get back to it... making not browsing!!!

DONE!!

I've finished my class reports! Now I just have to finish entering the data for the 6 art classes I haven't done yet. That shouldn't take too long.

I even had a chance to walk down to my local Cafe to have coffee with a friend. It was nice to take an hour's break and to have a chat and laugh.

This is another phone photo. Not fantastic quality but not too bad and pretty convenient. Oh and very sneaky, and a bit scary I took this while I was just playing with the phone while I waited for my friend to arrive. People around would not have known I was taking a photo. I was cautious not to get anyone else in the photo for their privacy but I can see how easy this would be to abuse.

I have justified doing this this week because I am testing out a new type of green lino that I am planning to use with the kids at school, it has nothing to do with my own desires at all! The green colour hasn't shown up so well here as I've used the flash and the surface is a bit shiny. It is very soft and easy to carve. Which is good as I have a no blood rule when I do lino printing in the class.

I'm thinking of using this to print onto fabric to make a skirt with or perhaps a bag. I'm not sure yet but originally I had intended to carve the outside away also so it is just the pear that prints. I might try both ways.

Well time to get back to reports... Almost completely done.
