Finished? Almost...

Almost done. I think. I like it mostly. I wish I could be happy with the things I do I tend to focus on all the negative bits, and I'm aware that they exist in the work of others to yet I still enjoy them. Ok I'm going to ignore the negative and focus on the positive. I do like the way I have shown the mother so absorbed in the baby, oblivious to the viewer, and the hands although big are gentle.

It's beautiful! You've captured that locked gaze between mother and child really well. Something in the angle of the woman's face reminds me of Gauguin's Tahiti paintings. I'd love to see more!

Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog! It's nice to have a visitor from down under to remind me that I shouldn't be so parochial in my posts, assuming that everyone is snowed in like we are! Enjoy your summer; it sounds like a scorcher!

This is coming along really well! I quite like the way you captured the baby's expression.

My art teacher always says that one should always emphasize the better parts of an artwork rather than trying to fix the bits we don't like. It's interesting because in my art class, every single person (including me) will have at least one aspect of their work which they will agonise over! It's human nature I suppose...

I love the way baby is looking up at mum. The shades of pink and blue work well together too. You captured the moment beautifully.
